The Senior Account Executive interacts with clients daily, developing and maintaining relationships with both client and carrier representatives. The role involves preparing applications, specifications, and marketing strategy for new business and renewals of assigned clients, often with minimal supervision. As lead consultant and primary point of contact, the Senior Account Executive works on large, complex accounts with substantial premiums and multifaceted coverages.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Negotiate terms, conditions, coverage limits, and pricing with carriers and wholesalers.
- Facilitate requests and needs of carriers on behalf of NFP’s clients.
- Work with the Claims Department on relevant claims for assigned clients.
- Maintain expertise in multi‑line accounts, including retrospective rating plans and foreign packages.
- Maintain a diary (follow‑up system) to ensure policies, endorsements, and other information are received to comply with requests.
- May supervise and direct the daily job activities of coordinators, account managers, and account executives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers and clients through regular contact and client visits.
- Keep clients apprised of industry trends and events, including state and federal regulatory issues.
- Excellent written communication skills—write clearly, edit for spelling and grammar, vary style to meet needs, present numeric data effectively, and read and interpret written information.
- Self‑confident, able to make sound independent decisions.
- Ability to interact successfully with a variety of people and personalities.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and reconcile financial reports.
- Technical expertise combined with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to handle situations calmly, courteously, and professionally.
- BA/BS preferred.
- Typically more than 8 years of industry and product line experience.
- Property & Casualty Broker’s License required.
- CIC, CPCU, or other P&C designation preferred.

The base salary range for this position is $56,000 – $132,000, determined by experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level, scope, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
