Senior Sales Manager – Dallas Marriott Suites (Remington Hospitality)
Position Summary: The Senior Sales Manager works to maximize sales occupancy and rates in conjunction with hotel operations, to increase profits by increasing room sales and generating business through aggressive sales efforts. As a leader among the sales team, they provide daily support to the Sales Managers and also assist the Director of Sales & Marketing in developing the strategic plan to drive revenue results.
The Senior Sales Manager reports directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Conduct a successful, aggressive solicitation process involving outside sales calls, inside appointments, telephone calls, email, personalized letters, video sales, and virtual tours. Approximately 80% of the time should be devoted to active sales solicitation.
- Provide daily support to the Sales Managers with assistance in account development, sales calls, site visits, and business evaluation.
- Assist the Director of Sales in creating a realistic and aggressive annual marketing plan, updating your portion monthly to reflect market conditions.
- Create a quarterly action plan that ties into the annual marketing plan and market conditions, developing sales strategies and timelines for your market segments.
- Send proposals on all leads that fit the property profile and actively follow through to convert proposals to definite status, sending proposals to clients immediately upon holding space.
- Clearly outline each client’s room block requirements, suite/upgrade preferences, meeting space needs, budget information, decision‑maker/process, and hot buttons.
- Obtain, document, and route all necessary information on definite groups, including billing information, credit applications, rooming lists, and VIP arrangements. Document meeting arrangements, menus, audio‑visual requirements, and forward them to the catering manager for follow‑up.
- Forecast your group production weekly and provide it to the Director of Sales to support property forecasting.
- Participate in Group Pick‑Up meetings as needed and provide feedback to the Group Housing Manager on group changes such as room numbers and cut‑off dates.
- Achieve all assigned KPIs, including sales solicitation goals, bookings, lead response times, and group pace.
- Participate in weekly revenue calls, presenting your group forecast and discussing the sales pipeline, lead conversions, and transient rate strategy.
- Inform the Director of Sales of any group offers or e‑blasts that need to be created for your market segments.
- Submit expense reports weekly to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Prepare any sales reporting required by management or ownership.
- Maintain total and complete sensitivity to customer satisfaction and guests’ needs.
- Assist the Director of Sales on special projects as assigned.
