About the Role

The Senior Sales Executive will play a pivotal role in supporting the success of The Rug Company’s business within the assigned territory. Reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager, this position will focus on providing exceptional service to clients, building strong relationships within the design community, and achieving individual sales targets. The ideal candidate will have a passion for luxury design, a proactive approach to sales, and a dedication to delivering a superior client experience.

Key Responsibilities Business Development
  • Proactively build and nurture relationships with design firms, trade professionals, interior designers, architects, and homeowners to expand The Rug Company’s client base and foster long‑term connections.
  • Strategically identify and pursue untapped market segments and emerging design firms with high potential to generate new revenue streams.
  • Regularly research industry trends, local real estate developments, and designer movements from firm to firm to spot new business opportunities before competitors.
  • Schedule and conduct regular client appointments each week, including presentations, showroom visits, on‑site consultations, and participation in events to build brand visibility and strengthen connections within the design community.
  • Qualify and assist new leads via phone, email, and walk‑in clients, ensuring timely follow‑up and communication.
  • Drive individual sales by managing a personal portfolio of clients and meeting or exceeding monthly sales goals.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable resource on The Rug Company’s products, services, and custom capabilities, positioning yourself as the ‘go‑to’ expert within the territory.
  • Manage sales quotes, invoices, and proposals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with client needs.
  • Coordinate the full sales cycle, from initial consultation to delivery and post‑installation follow‑up.
Operations and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of client interactions, sales activities, and pipeline developments.
  • Provide weekly reports to the Regional Sales Manager, including sales performance, client feedback, and market insights.
  • Ensure a seamless client experience by coordinating closely with internal teams on orders, production timelines, and delivery logistics.
Who You Are

You are a proactive sales professional with a proven track record of success in sales with luxury industries such as textiles, furniture or similar design‑related sectors.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven track record of success in sales within premium industries (e.g., furniture, textiles, or design‑related sectors).
  • Strong understanding of the interior design industry with established networks and proven ability to build and maintain trade relationships.
  • Exceptional sales and negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to close deals and meet or exceed targets.
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms and sales tools (e.g., Pipedrive recommended).
  • Ability to analyze client needs and provide creative, tailored solutions. — Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive, self‑starter mindset.

  • Achievement of individual sales targets and consistent revenue growth.
