Katydid is a fast-growing women’s apparel, accessories, and gifts brand selling wholesale to retail partners nationwide. We currently sell into major national retailers including Dillard’s, AAFES, Academy, and Buc‑ee’s, along with thousands of specialty boutiques across the U.S.
We are seeking an experienced, hands‑on Manager, Retail Operations & EDI to own the execution behind our key retail accounts. This role is not entry‑level and is not a learning position
. The ideal candidate has direct, hands‑on experience reading and interpreting vendor manuals, managing retail compliance, and owning EDI accuracy for large national retail accounts.

This role is the operational backbone of our wholesale retail business. You will be the internal expert responsible for retailer compliance, EDI execution, and factory ordering—ensuring orders move from purchase order to delivery accurately, on time, and chargeback‑free.
You will work closely with retailers, factories, EDI providers, and our warehouse team to ensure flawless execution across all key accounts. You will report directly to the CEO.
Responsibilities: EDI Management (Primary Focus)- Own all EDI workflows through SPS Commerce, Open Text, and DSCO
- Process and validate 850s, ASNs (856), invoices (810), and other required documents
- Troubleshoot EDI errors, rejections, and mapping issues quickly
- Ensure clean, accurate, and on‑time submissions for every retail order
- Maintain EDI connections and oversee onboarding for new retailers
- Read, interpret, and implement retailer vendor manuals for all key accounts
- Manage ticketing, polybag specifications, carton markings, packing configurations, and labeling requirements
- Partner with the warehouse team to prepare accurate UCC‑128 labels, packing lists, and routing documents
- Submit routing requests, manage carrier assignments, and actively prevent chargebacks
- Ensure shipments match retailer specifications exactly
- Translate retailer purchase orders into factory purchase orders
- Communicate quantities, timelines, revisions, and compliance requirements to factories
- Track production schedules and delivery timelines
- Manage changes, reorders, and retailer updates as needed
- Review samples to ensure compliance with retailer standards
- Build and maintain item setup files across platforms
- Upload and verify UPCs, dimensions, images, case packs, and packaging details
- Correct data errors and maintain consistency across all systems
- Review inventory availability for upcoming orders
- Run sales, inventory, and compliance‑related reports
- Use advanced Excel functions
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in retail operations, wholesale operations, or supply chain within apparel, accessories, or consumer products
- Direct experience reading and interpreting retailer vendor manuals
- Hands‑on EDI experience (not just oversight or exposure)
- Proven experience managing retail compliance for national accounts
- Experience translating retailer purchase orders into factory purchase orders
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables
- Highly detail‑oriented with strong organizational and problem‑solving skills
- Comfortable owning processes and wearing multiple hats in a fast‑paced environment
- Experience working with big‑box retailers such as Target, Walmart, Kohl’s, Academy, Macy’s, JCPenney, Nordstrom, or Dick’s Sporting Goods
- SOP creation for EDI, compliance, or item setup processes
- Familiarity with forecasting or replenishment planning
