- Read and write Spanish/English, interact with the general public and co‑workers.
- Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence and memos.
- Write simple correspondence.
- Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small‑group situations to customers, clients and other employees.
- Apply common sense to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, frequently up to 45 lbs, and occasionally up to 60 lbs.

Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and performs a variety of tasks within the bakery.
Responsibilities include:
- Assisting customers with bakery purchases, operating point‑of‑sale, and taking special orders.
- Cleaning shelves, display cases and self‑serve displays; rotating and restocking products.
- Assisting the baker to determine which items need to be baked or decorated.
- Maintaining department cleanliness by hosing down floors, sanitizing surfaces and ensuring food safety standards.
- Working in a fast‑paced, fast‑moving grocery environment; performing physical tasks such as lifting, standing, walking, kneeling and hearing requirements.
Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions involved in food preparation, handling and serving.
