Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00am-2:30pm

Job Summary

Join our mission-driven culinary team at a Jesuit private school, where hospitality and service are rooted in values of excellence, community, and care. As a Banquet Cook, you'll prepare and present high-quality meals for school events, faculty gatherings, and student celebrations. What You'll Do

• Prepare and cook large quantities of food for banquets, receptions, and catered events according to recipes and menu specifications.
• Assist with event setup, food presentation, and service as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards in all kitchen and prep areas.
• Follow food safety protocols including proper handling, storage, and labeling.
• Monitor and control food quality, portion sizes, and waste.
• Work collaboratively with other kitchen and event staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist with inventory, receiving, and storing banquet supplies.
• Flexibility to support other campus culinary operations when banquet schedule permits.
• Ensures safety of food prepared by following safe sanitary food handling practices- hot food hot and cold food cold.
• Follows specified cleaning procedures for all cooking equipment. Utilizes proper food storage practices- cover, label, and date.
• Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Will Bring

• 1-2 years banquet/high-volume cooking experience; institutional/school food service preferred
• Skill in large-scale prep, plating, and safe food handling (Serv Safe preferred/State Food Handler required)
• Ability to follow recipes, schedules, and production sheets
• Familiarity with kitchen equipment, knife safety, and food service operations
• Commitment to cleanliness and safety
• Commitment to service in a faith-based academic setting preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; professional demeanor
• Physical ability to stand long hours and lift up to 50 lbs
• Flexible availability (evenings/weekends/holidays as needed)
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen (required)
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship (E-Verify used)

Physical and Sensory Requirements

• This job involves regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and a kitchen environment with fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise. Employees must have the physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift trays, and perform repetitive tasks. Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions, extreme temperatures, and vibration may occur. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
