Overview

Job Summary

Works under minimal supervision to provide responsible technical assistance in performance of assignments requiring basic knowledge of techniques and practices related to particular field of science.

The Parikh lab studies mechanisms of aging as they relate to the vasculature and energy metabolism. Parikh Lab | UT Southwestern, Dallas, Texas. There is an opening for a Research Technician II. The ideal candidate is an organized, proactive professional who will support one or more clinical/postdoctoral fellows with their research projects by performing genotyping of the lab s mouse colony, breeding cages and data analysis.

Genotyping the lab s mouse colony by performing PCR, Gel Electrophoresis and other techniques. Performs cell culture experiments with careful attention to maintaining sterile conditions. Collaborates with supervisor or other research personnel in preparation of scientific papers or abstracts for publication. Reads literature and confers with supervisor concerning procedures and implementation. Performs other duties as assigned.
