JOB SUMMARY

Work under minimal supervision to meet the educational needs of the clinical research enterprise as part of the Office of Clinical Research Education and Training team. Support staff and faculty learning to promote the safe and ethical conduct of clinical research including good clinical practices, clinical trial operations, clinical research systems and clinical research policies across UT Southwestern. This position will have the opportunity to shape clinical research training programs at UTSW, create original content and deliver seminars and training to staff and faculty across the institution.

EDUCATION

Master's Degree and Bachelor’s Degree in related field

EXPERIENCE
  • 5 years of related human subjects research experience with Master's Degree.
  • 7 years of related experience with Bachelor's Degree
  • Advanced knowledge of the federal research regulations and industry standards for the conduct of human subjects research
PREFERRED
  • Experience:

    Demonstrated experience developing and delivering educational materials
  • Licenses and

    Certifications:

    (CCRP) CERT CLINICAL RESEARCH PROF and CIP research certificate
JOB DUTIES
  • Assess the research‑related education and training needs for the UT Southwestern campus. Identify learning gaps and barriers, and develop a comprehensive educational program for the human subject research enterprise.
  • Use principles of clinical research adult learning to plan and develop materials for use in educational programs geared to the target audiences and experience levels.
  • Working with subject matter experts as needed, deliver educational offerings in appropriate and varied advanced technology formats. Develop and maintain applicable websites.
  • Develop tools to evaluate the effectiveness of research‑related training programs.
  • Plan, develop, and coordinate new employee orientation for research personnel in collaboration with the Clinical Research Offices and the Center for Translational Medicine (CTM).
  • Assist in the planning, development, and coordination related to initial and ongoing competencies of research personnel in collaboration with the Office of Clinical Research.
  • Collaborate in the planning, development, and coordination of research staff development initiatives of the Human Research Protection Program, Office of Clinical Research, and aims of the Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA).
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders in the planning development and coordination of educational materials geared to the public to promote understanding of research, recruitment efforts and participation in research.
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and guidance documents to be used throughout the UT Southwestern campus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
