Overview
Molecular Mechanisms and Translational Cancer Research. A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the Brugarolas lab (). Research in the lab spans the full spectrum from basic to translational to clinical, including genomics, mechanistic and biomarker studies, animal models, drug discovery and clinical trials. While focused on kidney cancer, the lab has developed a comprehensive pipeline from molecular genetics to the clinic.
The Brugarolas lab is also the hub of the Kidney Cancer Program ((Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).), one of two such programs in the country recognized by a prestigious SPORE from the National Cancer Institute ().
- Perform research in molecular mechanisms and translational cancer biology, contributing to projects that span basic science to clinical translation.
- Engage in genomics, mechanistic and biomarker studies, animal models, drug discovery and clinical trial activities.
- Work within a translational research program with access to infrastructure linking patient records to experimental genomics, a comprehensive tumor bank, and tumor grafts and state-of-the-art genetically engineered mouse models.
- Collaborate with the Kidney Cancer Program and related departments to advance research findings toward clinical applications.
- Candidates should be in the last year of their doctoral studies or within 6 months of a Ph.D. degree.
- A track record of productivity and publications in well-established journals is essential.
