Our client, a high‑impact player in the infrastructure space, is searching for a QA/QC Data Center Specialist to join their dynamic team supporting hyperscale data center construction. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in ground‑up construction and mission‑critical infrastructure, who want to be a part of delivering industry‑leading data environments. The QA/QC Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring build quality from site development through to final commissioning and closeout.
You’ll work alongside a talented group of technical experts and project managers to verify installations, lead inspections, and uphold construction standards. This is a boots‑on‑the‑ground position that combines technical precision, cross‑functional collaboration, and a deep knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and civil systems.
Key Responsibilities- Review and validate construction activities for quality and compliance across all phases, from pre‑construction through turnover.
- Monitor site development and infrastructure including utilities, drainage, concrete work, and steel erection.
- Evaluate MEP systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing), including UPS, generators, switch gear, PDUs, CRAH/CRAC units, and chillers.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis and issue resolution for field discrepancies and non‑conformance items.
- Create and manage detailed QA/QC plans, checklists, and digital reporting dashboards.
- Oversee trade partners and vendors to ensure adherence to QA/QC protocols and documentation standards.
- Support integrated commissioning across all L1–L5 phases, participating in IST, SOO validation, and system energization.
- Review installation and test documentation including PFCs, FPTs, and startup records.
- Validate electrical and fiber testing (megger, IR scans, hydrostatic pressure testing, etc.).
- Coordinate O&M manuals, warranties, and as‑built documentation for final turnover.
- Leverage platforms like Procore, Smartsheet, Bluebeam, and Cx Alloy to manage inspections and QA/QC workflows.
- Identify and resolve safety risks in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Lead meetings, communicate with ownership groups and general contractors, and contribute to high‑performance project delivery.
- 7+ years of QA/QC or field engineering experience in large‑scale, ground‑up construction, ideally with data center or mission‑critical facilities.
- Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, with a strong understanding of commissioning processes.
- Strong understanding of construction documentation, IFC drawings, and permitting.
- Proficiency in QA/QC documentation systems and project tracking software.
- Ability to interpret test reports and lead closeout efforts with high attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
