Job Summary:

Union Technologies is looking for a Quality Supervisor to lead the frontline execution of our production Quality Control operations. In this hands‑on leadership role, you’ll supervise a team of Quality Technicians and Inspectors on the shop floor, ensuring our metalworking and assembly processes deliver battle‑ready, defense‑grade components.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high‑intensity production environments, brings deep knowledge of quality systems and inspection processes, and knows how to build disciplined, high‑performing teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Shop Floor Quality Execution
    :
    Supervise day‑to‑day Quality Control operations in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

  • Enforce Quality Standards
    :
    Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and customer requirements through real-time inspection, data review, and process verification.

  • Coach and Develop Technicians
    :
    Train, mentor, and support a team of Quality Inspectors, driving accountability and precision on the floor.

  • Own Frontline Quality Metrics
    :
    Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), including defect rates, first‑pass yield, and calibration compliance.

  • Drive Problem Solving
    :
    Lead RCCA activities (8D, 5‑Why) on the floor; escalate and contain issues quickly to protect production flow and quality.

  • Support Process Control
    :
    Monitor SPC charts and inspection data; collaborate with Quality and Process Engineers to maintain tightly controlled manufacturing windows.

  • Participate in MRB Process
    :
    Support Material Review Board efforts for on‑the‑floor defect disposition and containment.

  • Audit Readiness
    :
    Maintain a state of readiness for customer and internal audits; ensure all training, inspection, and calibration records are current and compliant.

  • Collaborate Across Teams
    :
    Serve as the key Quality point‑of‑contact for Production, Engineering, and Maintenance teams during your shift.

Required Qualifications
  • Education
    :
    Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Industrial Engineering, related technical field, or significant work experience in Quality Supervisory roles.

  • Experience
    :

    • 5+ years in Quality Control in a manufacturing environment

    • 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role

    • Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other regulated Quality systems

    • Familiar with metalworking processes: forging, casting, machining, or painting

  • Technical Skills
    :

    • Inspection techniques and tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, visual)

    • Strong grasp of RCCA methodologies (8D, 5‑Why)

    • Comfortable with SPC, inspection data analysis, and use of quality software/tools

  • Leadership Style
    :

    • Lead‑from‑the‑front attitude

    • Builds disciplined teams

    • Calm under pressure and relentless in pursuit of quality

  • Physical Requirements
    :

    • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods

    • Lift up to 50 lbs

    • Work in a hot, noisy, industrial environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with defense standards (e.g., MIL-STD, ITAR)

  • Experience with non‑destructive testing such as ultrasonic

  • Knowledge of metallurgy and steel specifications

  • Six Sigma Green Belt, ASQ CQT, or equivalent certification

Work Environment

This is an on‑site, shop‑floor‑based leadership role at our Carrollton, Texas facility. You’ll be embedded with production teams, with limited office time.
