Job Summary
UT Southwestern is actively seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Groundskeeper to join our Landscape Services team. As a Senior Groundskeeper, you will oversee the care, maintenance, and enhancement of our exterior landscapes.
This role is responsible for coordinating ground operations, ensuring the highest standards of horticultural excellence, and providing guidance to grounds staff. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical expertise, sound judgement, and a commitment to maintaining safe, attractive, and well‑presented outdoor environments. Works under general supervision to supervise and/or perform skilled groundskeeping and general gardening duties on grounds or in greenhouse of the university.
WorkLocation
Dallas Campus; assist other facilities and/or locations as needed.
Shift Requirement6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday; occasional overtime as needed.

- Education:
Minimum 8th grade education - Experience:
2 years as Groundskeeper or equivalent - Licenses &
Certifications:
Valid State of Texas Driver's License required or obtained within 6 months of being hired; within 180 days
- Participate in groundskeeping by cultivating, pruning, fertilizing, planting, and transplanting a wide variety of shrubs, plants, trees, flowers, and tropical plants
- Water trees, shrubs, seedlings, flowers, lawns, and tropical plants; monitor plants for insects or diseases
- Prepare propagation beds, potting materials, and repot tropical plantings
- Cut grass using push or riding mowers
- Assist with special projects, special event set ups, and Interiors cape installations
- Trim & edge sidewalks, driveways, and flower beds
- Cut weeds and brush, and remove leaves and rubbish from grounds and campus Interiors capes
- Coach new employees in duties and techniques; monitor work in absence of foreman to ensure assignments are completed
- Evaluate potential hazards of assigned duties and complete work in a safe & productive manner
- Proper use, care, maintenance, and secure storage of University vehicle, equipment & tools assigned
- Perform related duties as assigned
