Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to ensure patient safety.
  • Direct and assist with safe aseptic and sterile techniques and procedures.
  • Perform tasks as a CVL circulator and recovery RN.
  • Ensure the Cath Lab is prepared for the patient and procedure.
  • Assist in transporting patients to the Cath Lab and verify pre‑op records.
  • Verify that appropriate surgical prep is completed.
  • Complete documentation for CVL records and patient charts including medications and physician orders.
  • Supervise and assist with proper, safe patient positioning.
  • Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts and documentation.
  • Secure emergency equipment and supplies as needed.
  • Provide assistance to teammates, physicians, and patient families when applicable.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills that promote safe patient care.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Registered Nurse with current state licensure; current BLS required, ACLS preferred (must obtain within 90 days of hire).
  • Minimum of 5 years of continuous catheterization lab, ED, or PACU experience required; previous critical‑care experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge:
    Monitor, scrub, and/or circulate all Cath Lab procedures; pre‑op and recover patients; provide direct care; proficient in interpreting EKG and hemodynamic tracings.
  • Technical skills:
    Manipulate electronic and clinical equipment, calibrate and troubleshoot, perform IV infusions, and use computer equipment at a user level.
  • Interpersonal skills:
    Communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing; interact effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians; sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
  • Age‑specific criteria:
    Provide care specific to age‑related needs and interpret age‑specific data.
