Here’s What You Need- Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program
- BSN highly preferred
- Five years of experience as a Registered Nurse with previous experience as a charge nurse or similar leadership role (i.e., Charge nurse, committee chair, preceptor) required
- Three years of experience in Emergency Department or Critical Care highly preferred
- RN - Registered Nurse upon hire required
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days required
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required
- CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention training maintained annually within 90 days required
- Represents facility administration after business hours and weekends
- Promotes shared decision making through collaborative/consultative relationships with nursing administration, department leadership, general nursing staff and other department staff
- Rounds throughout the facility on a frequent basis (at least 2 times per 12 hours shift)
- Serves as a resource for problem solving, decision-making, and policy interpretation using reliable critical thinking and evidence-based practice
- Responds to emergency situations such as Codes and RRTs
- Responds to emergency, rapid response or clinically complex events and serves as a clinical leader during the emergency situations, ensuring resources are allocated to meet patient/visitor needs and prompt evaluation of codes
- Facilitates appropriate utilization of beds, matching patient needs, diagnosis, and acuity to unit scope of service, level of care, and nursing competency/skill
- Coordinates and approves appropriate transfers from other facilities in a timely manner through the Patient Logistics Transfer Center
