Associate s Degree - Associate Nursing Degree
- Experience
1 year in critical care (ie. ICU, ED, PACU, Procedural areas) or 2 years in an inpatient unit
- Licenses and Certifications
(RN) REGISTERED NURSE Current Texas RN license Upon Hire and (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT Course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) Upon Hire and (ACLS) ADV CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT Course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) within 90 Days and (PALS) PEDS ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT Course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) within 90 Days

Previous Hematology/Oncology or Radiation Oncology Nursing experience

Oncology Nursing Certificate Upon Hire
- Provides nursing care to adult and pediatric populations, with oversight to both inpatient and outpatient clients.
- Multitasks to deliver excellent patient care while facilitating efficient throughput across the clinic and procedural areas as needed.
- Plans, implements, evaluates, and communicates all phases of nursing care for patients.
- Responsibilities for the delivery of direct patient care may include, and is not limited to: a) assessments and management of side effects of radiation; b) patient education; c) coordination of care for patients including telephone triage; d) providing moderate sedation for procedures; e) initiating IVs and assessments for contrast administration; f) cardiac monitoring as needed; g) preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care for pediatric anesthesia cases;
h) assist with research associated activities with clinical care, including obtaining labs; i) manage inpatient populations transferred to Radiation Oncology for treatments, including obtaining report and conducting care during the transfer; and j) supports nursing practice across the continuum of care to the needs of patients and their families. - Collaborates daily with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, clinical assistants and radiation therapists.
- Duties performed may include one or more of the following core functions: (a) Directly interacting with or caring for patients; (b) Directly interacting with or caring for human-subjects research participants; (c) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting patient records (including patient financial records); or (d) Regularly maintaining, modifying, releasing or similarly affecting human-subjects research records.
