OverviewThis is a full‑time Monday‑Friday 8:30 am‑5 pm position with no weekends, calls, or major holidays. The role floats between multiple clinics within the Dallas Region, covering infusion, medical oncology, and radiation oncology departments.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assess health status by interviewing patients and reviewing medical history.
- Provide psychosocial support and patient/family education.
- Prepare and administer therapies under physician supervision, including medications, blood products, and dose adjustments.
- Perform venipuncture, manage implanted ports, and maintain central lines.
- Manage medication refill requests, triage patient calls, and document all information in the patient chart.
- Assist patients in locating community resources and adhere to the Nursing Float Pool playbook.
- Serve as a resource for LPNs, LVNs, and medical assistants.
- Support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
- BSN or equivalent; RN state license and active registration in the applicable state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience:
0‑3 years preferred; oncology experience strongly preferred. Minimum three (3) years for Level II, and minimum five (5) years for Level Senior. - Oncology certification preferred.
- Ability to meet physical requirements: standing and walking for extensive periods, lifting up to 40 lbs, full range of motion and manual dexterity.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and patient‑centered care skills.
The role may involve exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other typical oncology/hematology clinic conditions. Reasonable accommodations will be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
Physical RequirementsRequires full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, standing and walking for extensive periods, occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs, and normal vision and hearing. Reasonable accommodations will be provided as needed.
