North Central Surgical Center is a highly successful Baylor Scott & White affiliated hospital located in Dallas, TX. Performing over 12,000 procedures per year, the center offers 14 operating rooms and 30 medical/surgical patient rooms. Specialties include orthopedics, spine, general surgery, pain management, urology, GI/Endoscopy, plastic and podiatry surgeries. The facility is managed by United Surgical Partners International and is Joint Commission accredited.

We are currently looking for a Med Surge Charge Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post‑Surgical Unit on a full‑time night shift. As the Charge Nurse, you will deliver safe and effective patient‑centered care, mentor staff, and coordinate unit resources.

• Assess, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the delivery of safe and effective patient‑centered care.
• Facilitate and mentor others to grow professionally and advance their knowledge and skills.
• Continuously assess unit needs to ensure adequate resources for current and upcoming shifts by collaborating with other departments, clinical and non‑clinical, to coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges of patients in a timely manner.
• Demonstrate professionalism at all times and uphold standards of practice by holding team members accountable for continued compliance with professional guidelines such as the state board of nurses, American Nurses Association (ANA) professional standards of care, Joint Commission, and all Federal and State standards of care.

• Rounds when possible and/or check on the ED staff.
• Call the Manager and Administrator on call regarding issues pertaining to risk, safety, physician complaints, staffing, clinical issues, and patient complaints.

• Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing.
• At least 5 years experience as an RN in a hospital Medical/Surgery or ICU unit.
• At least 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
• Registered Nurse (RN), currently licensed in the State of Texas.
• BCLS certification.
• Must attain ACLS and PALS within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment.
• Ability to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
