Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team! This position will support the Infusion Department at our Dallas Presbyterian location. This is a full-time Monday - Friday position with hours 8:30am-5pm and no weekends, calls, or major holidays. Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country, serving over 600 providers across 220+ sites in Texas and southeastern Oklahoma.

Role Description

Under minimal supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients, adhering to national and company standards and specialty regulations. The RN demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental differences in the patient population and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient/family needs. All care adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician.
  • Administer all medications/blood products using correct dosage, route, time, and technique.
  • Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable.
  • Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems, and symptom management.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assigned patient care and treatments provided.
  • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
  • Minimum 0‑3 years of RN experience; willing to consider entry, mid, or senior level candidates.
  • Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time, and occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
