The Community Relations Manager is responsible for advancing Interfaith Family Services’ mission to empower families in crisis to break the cycle of poverty by building strong community partnerships, deepening donor and Auxiliary engagement, and overseeing volunteer-driven operations that directly support families served.
This role serves as a critical bridge between development, event coordination, volunteers, and ensuring that community engagement efforts are strategic, well-coordinated, and aligned with fundraising priorities, program needs, and organizational outcomes. In addition, the Community Relations Manager provides oversight of facilities readiness and apartment preparation, ensuring families transition into safe, welcoming homes supported by engaged volunteers and partners.
Key Responsibilities Development and Event Alignment- Partner closely with the Development team to support donor engagement, cultivation, stewardship, and event success through strong community relationships.
- Serve as a primary staff liaison for Interfaith events, providing strategic guidance, operational support, and consistent communication to strengthen engagement and execution of annual campaigns and events.
- Support fundraising events and campaigns by mobilizing community partners and volunteers, enhancing participation, sponsorship engagement, and overall experience.
- Ensure community engagement efforts reinforce Interfaith’s fundraising goals, donor relationships, and long-term sustainability.
- Oversee volunteer engagement strategy, including recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and recognition.
- Manage volunteers supporting apartment preparation, facilities projects, donation coordination, and special initiatives.
- Collaborate with program and development teams to ensure volunteer efforts align with family needs, program timelines, and organizational priorities.
- Build a reliable, mission-driven volunteer base that enhances efficiency, consistency, and quality of service delivery.
- Collaborate with Development, Programs, Operations, and Executive leadership to align community engagement efforts with organizational goals.
- Track and report on engagement metrics, volunteer participation, partnership contributions, and facilities support outcomes.
- Continuously assess and improve community engagement strategies to maximize impact and efficiency.
- Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in community engagement, development, and volunteer management.
- Demonstrated success in building and stewarding relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners.
- Experience managing volunteer-driven operations or facilities-related projects is strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
