Job DescriptionEssential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage all donor acknowledgements and stewardship activities on a regularly recurring schedule
- Respond to and resolve all donor inquiries via phone and email
- Under the guidance of the Annual Funds Manager, manage the donor stewardship process (thank you notes, calls, events and other stewardship activities) and follow-up to ensure all actions are entered into the database
- Assist with the management of all campaigns, including for donor recognition, memorials, and other donor groups as identified
- Under the guidance of the Annual Funds Manager, organize and execute donor appreciation and stewardship events
- Assist Development Team with scheduling and attending tours for donors
- Assist the Annual Funds Manager with identifying prospective mid-level and major donors by conducting research on prospects, to include wealth capacity rating, giving history, and SPCA of Texas involvement
- Work with Major Gifts team, brainstorm and implement experiential and creative practices for the stewardship of donor relationships, ensuring donors feel connected, informed, and have clear insight into the impact of their gifts/commitments
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure the timely and accurate completion of routine work such as call reports, gift acknowledgements, solicitation and cultivation mailings, and event invitations
- Maintain ongoing familiarity with animal welfare research and trends
- Work collaboratively across the organization to stay up-to-date on current events and needs
- Assist the development team on special projects and events as they are identified
- Actively engage with volunteers in such a way that provides support for our volunteers and staff and proactively improves our volunteer program.
- Be an ambassador for the charity, sharing the work and mission with your friends and family and be knowledgeable of the various ways to support our work.
Knowledge, skill, and abilities needed to perform the Essential functions of this position:
- Must demonstrate the Core Values of each specified campaign
- 3-5 years of directly-related experience in fundraising
- Comfort interacting with high net-worth individuals and families
- Superior written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills “What else can I do?” mentality to go above and beyond customer service approach with internal and external audiences
- Must deliver strong initiative, anticipation and innovative thinking
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to be self-motivated and disciplined
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and use of all social media channels
- Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule that includes long hours near/during events as well as some weekends and evenings
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience
