A growth-oriented tech organization is seeking an Assistant Vice President of Marketing & Brand Strategy to play a critical leadership role shaping long-term growth, brand differentiation, and strategic clarity across the enterprise.
This role sits at the intersection of strategy, brand, product, and customer experience, partnering closely with senior leaders to define winnable growth paths and translate insight into action.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and align cross-functional teams around strategic priorities and growth initiatives
- Define and codify long-term growth strategies within a 3-year strategic plan in partnership with corporate strategy and development teams
- Conceptualize and guide the development of differentiated products, services, and initiatives that motivate customer choice
- Develop portfolio strategy, brand architecture, and positioning frameworks that clarify demand and growth opportunities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business unit and marketing leaders, challenging assumptions and driving insight-based decision making
- Drive execution across internal and external touchpoints, including sales, customer experience, digital, product, communications, and talent initiatives
- Build strategic frameworks, business cases, and analytical models to inform high-impact decisions
- Help develop and lead a high-caliber internal team that serves as the organization’s center of excellence for marketing and brand strategy
Typical Outputs Include:
Portfolio and brand architecture, value propositions and positioning, segmentation and targeting, messaging frameworks, product and feature ideation, market sizing and validation, journey mapping and CX analysis, brand health measurement, business cases, audience-based marketing strategies, brand guidelines, and long-range strategic planning.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Typically 10+ years of experience in marketing, brand strategy, or related leadership roles
- Strong analytical capability, strategic judgment, and business acumen
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead through complexity
