Career Strategy is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Supervisor to lead the 2nd Shift (3pm-12am) anodizing department for a growing industrial manufacturing operation in the Dallas, TX area. Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Manager, this position is responsible for daily supervision, safety, quality, and performance of the department's assigned shift. The ideal candidate will bring experience in managing manufacturing teams, a strong understanding of anodizing or metal finishing processes, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the activities of anodizing personnel to meet production goals.
- Promote and enforce compliance with ISO 9001, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Monitor department performance metrics such as production output, quality standards, and downtime.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient workflow and scheduling alignment.
- Coordinate and deliver effective training to ensure staff are properly equipped and safety-certified.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and lead initiatives to improve safety awareness and culture.
- Enforce the use of proper PPE and ensure all safety devices and procedures are consistently followed.
- Monitor and manage labor and material usage to meet budget expectations.
- Conduct performance evaluations and manage corrective actions, coaching, or disciplinary procedures.
- Lead recruitment efforts and participate in interviews for new hires.
- Assist the Manufacturing Manager with operational improvement projects and reporting needs.
- Maintain proper documentation and communication regarding shift activities and safety concerns.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required.
- Prior experience in anodizing, metal finishing, or aluminum processing highly preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems is required.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and resolve conflicts.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong safety mindset and ability to drive a culture of accountability.
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training preferred.
