Job DescriptionThe Filler Operator runs and maintains fillers in a continuous flow vat to process milk, cream, and other dairy products, following specific methods and formulas. As a Filler Operator, you will be responsible for the quality, food safety, and product specifications.
Responsibilities- Clean, set up, operate, and monitor filler equipment.
- Complete all required quality checks and documentation.
- Collect the required samples needed for Quality Assurance testing.
- Monitor weights, seals, caps, and general packaging of the product.
- Make adjustments to filler timing and filling; check vat as needed.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
- Perform filler equipment and filler line changeovers for the next run safely.
- Working knowledge with wrapper operations; watch for jams and effectively thread product wrap.
- Complete the cleaning checklist once the line has completed the run.
- Follow all sanitation and quality policies and procedures and report any deficiencies.
- Ensure that the proper packaging materials are used for each product being produced.
- Responsible for adhering to food safety and quality system requirements by committing to meet all pertinent regulatory, customer, and SQF requirements.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
- Minimum age: 18
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and physical.
- Basic math competency required to perform calculations.
- Experience analyzing and troubleshooting process data and equipment performance preferred.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 pounds. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, or nut allergens. Exposed to noise/vibration, and chemicals. Required to stand, walk, climb, bend, twist, push and pull, and reach above and below the shoulder. Repetition-Hand/Wrist Simple Grasping, Firm grasping. Must be able to work in a wet environment (50 degrees) for extended periods of time.
Occasionally required to climb or balance.
$19.35 per hour + $1.00 shift differential
