Overview

The Site Leader will provide world class jobsite leadership for large, long-duration, high-profile orders of Vertiv power and/or thermal equipment. The Site Leader is the primary Vertiv Service on-site technical representative for large jobs, from construction start through start-up, site acceptance testing, and project completion. The Site Leader must establish, grow and maintain excellent rapport with customers, co-workers, sales representatives and others as appropriate.

The Site Leader works in tandem with the assigned Project Manager to drive cost controls, schedule adherence, resource management, and a positive customer experience.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide jobsite construction and technical leadership for large projects
  • Maintain working knowledge of critical infrastructure equipment in data centers, including Vertiv-manufactured equipment
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary on-site team including Project Leaders, Installers, Technicians, Customer Engineers, and subcontractors
  • Represent Vertiv at daily customer meetings and explain technical requirements for the day’s schedule
  • Lead and support start-up and site testing activities for assigned projects
  • Ensure sufficient manpower on-site each day to perform start-up and site testing
  • Assist during start-up and site testing as necessary based on manpower and site location
  • Provide daily status reports to Service Management, Project Management and the sales representative
Technical Responsibilities
  • Stay current on Vertiv equipment start-up and commissioning processes, procedures, and tools
  • Stay current on Safety Bulletins, Field Change Notices, and Service Tips
Safety Responsibilities
  • Lead daily toolbox talks, pre-job safety walks and inspections; drive corrective/preventive actions as needed
  • Adhere to and administer all site and Vertiv safety policies
  • Work safely in accordance with published safety guidelines
  • Wear appropriate PPE as per company guidelines
  • Adhere to work hours policy guidelines – “14 hours rule”
  • Report all work-related accidents or injuries within 24 hours
  • Model safety leadership and lead by example with STOP WORK Authority and timely closure of corrective actions
Administrative Responsibilities
  • Adhere to Vertiv Warranty process in partnership with Project Manager
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting per guidelines (Timecards, expense reports, mileage, SR/task closures, etc.)
  • Support Project Manager with obtaining necessary technical data
  • Maintain company property per policy (credit cards, PPE, test equipment, laptop, smartphone, etc.)
Customer Satisfaction Responsibilities
  • Provide clear and adequate communication to internal and external customers
  • Align daily activities with customer expectations and Vertiv activity; re-align as needed
  • Maintain customer satisfaction rates per company guidelines
