Job Summary
Ever wondered what it takes to keep anairline'sfleet running at peak performance? As a Heavy Maintenance (MX) Project Manager,you'llbe the driving force behind Southwest's most critical maintenance operations.
You'llplan and coordinate day-to-day heavy maintenance visits, ensuring our Aircraft Maintenance Technicians have the parts, tools, and process flows they need to succeed. Acting as the key liaison between Production and departments like Quality Control, Engineering, Stores, and Appearance, as well as external vendors,you'llkeep complex operations running smoothly. Beyond daily oversight,you'lllead projects that improve compliance and efficiency, directlyimpactingthe reliability and safety of our fleet.

Responsibilities
- Provide Production a daily plan, making certain everyone is aligned with duties and production goals are being met
- Work on root-cause analysis and drive change when goals go unmet
- Lead pre-post dock meetings to ensure compliance and standardization amongst shifts
- Act as a liaison between Production and all other departments (Appearance, Engineering, Inspection, and Materials) to resolve conflicts in priorities
- Lead evaluation of Routine & Non-Routine tasks for labor hours and spans
- Work to lead a resolution of any discrepancies
- Coordinate and lead special projects as directed by Production Leadership and
- in support of department initiatives
- May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of aircraft maintenance procedures and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing efficiency
- Knowledge of the requirements of Southwest's FAA-approved Maintenance Procedures Manual
- Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to comprehend technical documents related to aircraft maintenance
- Ability to work efficiently under stress and short deadlines as part of an integrated Team
Education
- Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience
- Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
- Airline maintenance, 737 heavy maintenance management
- Production planning, MPM, and FAA policies, and procedures
Licensing/Certification
- Required:
Airframe and Powerplant License - Must be able to attain a United States Passport
- Must be able to obtain a SIDA (Secured Identification Display Area) badge and meet all local airport requirements
Physical Abilities
- Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
- Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
- Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
- Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
- Some travel may be required
- May be required to work additional hours including nights and weekends to support Production working a 24-hour clock
