Job Summary
The Processing Worker is responsible for handling materials and following procedures to de‑package and prepare products according to company standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety throughout the production process.
- Understand, uphold, and abide by the company’s vision, mission and core values.
- Maintain strict adherence to all company policies, processes and procedures in accordance with the Employee Manual, the Safety Manual, Department Manual(s), and the Animal Food Safety Plan.
- Show up to work on time, as scheduled.
- Follow verbal and written work instructions and production guidelines.
- Don appropriate PPE, including safety shoes, while in the plant.
- Clean containers and machines to prepare products for processing, storage or shipment.
- Unload food waste products (weighing up to 40 pounds) for extended periods of time and manage equipment to organize the product for further processing.
- Ensure product is delivered to appropriate storage and packaging waste generated from the de‑packaging is baled or collected for follow‑up actions.
- Prepare semi‑trailers for return to customer site.
- Maintain a clean and orderly job site. Report any issues and/or spills to the supervisor.
- Clean and sanitize totes according to checklists and company processes.
- Attend all company meetings and trainings as directed by management.
- Physically able to perform the role safely and comfortably.
- Able/willing to wear non‑slip, safety shoes.
- Able to work from 6 am until the shift is complete; sometimes will work into the evenings.
- Able to work overtime into the evening, weekends and holidays, as required.
- Able to work in a non‑climate‑controlled facility.
- Able to work around dairy products.
- Comfortable working in hot, noisy, or dusty environments with physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50–75 lbs.
- Able to be on one’s feet throughout the shift.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, early mornings, late evenings, and occasional weekends, holidays, or overtime as needed.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures in a processing environment.
- Able/willing to work without watches, jewelry, cell phones, or other extensions (e.g., artificial nails, eyelash/hair extensions, etc.).
- Competitive hourly wage commensurate with experience.
