Position Summary and Responsibilities:

The primary purpose of this position is to

  • At the direction of the Production Supervisor, follow production daily activities.
  • Expedite meat orders and materials throughout the day.
  • Scan out product from inventory to production daily using a RF gun.
  • Ensure that accurate materials are selected and prepared in accordance with work order specifications and established procedures.
  • Follow FEFO (First Expired, First Out) rotation for the selection of manufacturing materials staging work orders.
  • Organize the materials needed to start the process of production in the clean cart(s).
  • Report any deviations from procedures timely to Production Supervisor.
  • As production demand varies, all Material Handlers are expected to have hour and day flexibility.
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
  • Works closely with Quality Assurance (QA), to ensure material description, approved labeling, and material release criteria processing is followed.
  • Partner with supervisor and FSQA team on product quality issues.
  • Maintain all work surfaces, tools, and equipment clean and sanitized.
  • Always follow the USDA, HACCP, SSOP, food and employee safety rules and regulations.
  • Wear required protective and food safety equipment at all times while in the production area.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
  • Able to multitask in a fast‑paced work environment.
  • Must have basic knowledge of meat.
  • Familiarity with pallet jack, forklift, or other industrial vehicles.
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Self‑Starter.
  • Basic math knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 80 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand on your feet all day and work in a cold (32‑40) environment.
