Retail Controller

We are a growing retail organization with a multi-location footprint and expanding operations. The company is focused on operational excellence, margin optimization, and scalable infrastructure to support continued growth. We are seeking a hands‑on Controller with strong inventory management expertise to lead the accounting function and strengthen internal controls.

The Controller will oversee all accounting operations, financial reporting, and inventory accounting processes. This role requires deep experience in retail environments where inventory accuracy, margin analysis, and shrink control are critical to performance. The ideal candidate is both strategic and hands‑on, with the ability to build processes while managing day‑to‑day accounting operations.

• Oversee general ledger, month‑end close, and financial reporting processes
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain strong internal controls
• Lead annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors

• Oversee inventory accounting across multiple locations or channels
• Manage inventory reconciliations, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes
• Monitor inventory reserves, shrink, obsolescence, and valuation
• Analyze gross margins, COGS, and inventory turnover metrics
• Ensure accurate cost accounting and SKU‑level profitability reporting
• Partner with operations and merchandising to improve inventory controls

• Develop and enhance accounting policies and procedures
• Improve reporting visibility around sales, margins, and inventory KPIs
• Support ERP optimization and system enhancements
