Vice President Preconstruction - Ground‑up Electrical Construction - Dallas‑Fort Worth

We are seeking a high‑caliber, strategic leader to serve as Vice President of Preconstruction
. In this executive role, you will oversee the entire preconstruction lifecycle for large‑scale, ground‑up electrical projects across the DFW Metroplex and throughout Texas—ranging from high‑tech data centers and healthcare facilities to massive industrial complexes.

Responsibilities:

• Executive Leadership: Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary preconstruction team, fostering a culture of technical excellence, precision, and aggressive pursuit of goals.
• Strategic Estimating: Oversee the preparation of comprehensive budget estimates, from conceptual design‑build phases to hard‑bid GMP (Guaranteed Maximum Price) proposals.
• Design‑Build Excellence: Partner with developers, GCs, and engineers to influence design early, providing value engineering (VE) solutions that maintain project integrity while optimizing costs.
• Market Strategy: Analyze the DFW market landscape to identify high‑value opportunities and manage the “Go/No-Go” decision process.
• Vendor & Subcontractor Relations: Leverage deep industry connections to negotiate favorable pricing and ensure supply chain stability for long‑lead electrical components (switch gear, generators, etc.).
• Risk Mitigation: Conduct thorough reviews of contract documents, scopes of work, and site conditions to identify and price out potential risks before the shovel hits the dirt.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 15+ years in electrical construction estimating/preconstruction, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Project Pedigree: A proven track record of managing preconstruction for ground‑up electrical projects valued at $20M–$100M+.
• Local Knowledge: Deep familiarity with the Dallas‑Fort Worth construction market, local codes, and regional labor trends.
• Technical Proficiency: Mastery of Accubid, McCormick, or similar estimating software, alongside Bluebeam and BIM/VDC integration workflows.
• Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field experience/Master Electrician license.
