The Opportunity:
Leon Capital Group is seeking a Managing Director, Insurance Platform & Producer Growth to help build Bastion Insurance Group into a highly credible, scalable, and enduring insurance brokerage platform.
This is not a recruiting role and not a traditional executive position.
It is a builder role for a senior insurance leader who understands that:
- Recruiting producers is a growth lever, not a function
- Platform credibility determines whether producers move their books
- Long-term value is created through disciplined growth, not volume
This role is designed for someone who can originate growth, shape the platform, and compound enterprise value over time — with a clear path to expanded leadership responsibility.
What You Will Own:The Managing Director will be responsible for three tightly connected mandates:
Producer Origination:- Lead relationship-driven recruitment of experienced insurance producers with portable books of business, initially in the ~$1–5M range, with upside over time.
- Engage producers as peers — evaluating book quality, economics, transition complexity, and long-term alignment.
- Guide producer transitions with discretion, credibility, and sound commercial judgment.
- Build trust in the market through consistent, professional execution.
- Help define and articulate Bastion’s value proposition to producers, partners, and the market.
- Act as a senior, stabilizing presence for producers conducting diligence on the platform.
- Influence operating priorities to ensure producers are supported by scalable service, account management, and infrastructure.
- Translate Leon Capital Group’s long-term vision into confidence producers can believe in.
- Identify and support growth opportunities beyond individual hires, including:
- Agency tuck-ins
- Select M&A opportunities
- Partner with Leon Capital Group on evaluating and executing expansion initiatives.
- Think and operate in terms of enterprise value, durability, and long-term outcomes.
This role is best suited for a senior insurance professional who has moved beyond a single functional identity.
Common backgrounds may include:- Brokerage Presidents, Managing Directors, or Practice Leaders
- Producer-turned-operators with strong market credibility
- Growth or expansion leaders inside PE-backed insurance platforms
- Senior insurance executives who have successfully moved producers, built teams, or scaled platforms
What matters most is not title history, but judgment, credibility, and builder instinct.
This role is not suited for:- Traditional recruiters or HR leaders
- Pure sales managers without platform responsibility
- Operators who are uncomfortable with ambiguity or ownership
- Bastion consistently attracts and closes high-quality producers with meaningful books of business.
- Producers view Bastion as credible, organized, and built for scale.
- The platform demonstrates increasing operational maturity alongside growth.
- Bastion’s enterprise value compounds meaningfully over time.
- The Managing Partner grows into broader leadership responsibility as the platform evolves.
Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with the seniority of the role. Meaningful long-term upside and equity participation are expected components for the right individual and will be aligned with value creation over time.
