Position Overview

The Commit Partnership seeks an experienced, strategic, and relationship-driven leader to serve as the Managing Director (MD) of District Strategy & Partnerships. This role leads Commit’s district-facing work, ensuring our supports are deeply responsive to each district’s unique context while maintaining coherence across the organization.

The MD is responsible for developing and executing the overarching strategy for how Commit stewards, supports, and strengthens district partnerships and for managing the team that operationalizes this vision with excellence and consistency. As a member of Commit’s Executive Team, the MD contributes to organization-wide strategy, alignment, and decision-making to ensure Commit’s work delivers lasting impact across Dallas County and beyond.

To build and sustain a high-functioning system for differentiated district partnership that bridges organizational strategy with district needs. The MD ensures that support from across our core pillars of Instruction, Talent, and Leadership are effectively translated into each district’s specific context, driving stronger outcomes for students.

Salary Range: $150,000-$182,000 + a bonus of up to 20%

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and implement the overarching strategy for Commit’s district partnership work, defining how the organization supports and holds accountability for district progress.
  • Create a coherent framework for differentiated support that honors district context while maintaining alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Collaborate with the Chief and other Managing Directors to ensure seamless integration across Commit’s core pillars of Instruction, Talent, and Leadership.
  • Serve on the executive team to contribute to cross-organizational strategy, alignment, and culture-building.
  • Establish and track success metrics for district partnership quality, impact, and satisfaction, embedding continuous improvement routines.
2. Team Leadership & Management
  • Manage the team responsible for executing the district partnership vision, ensuring clarity, alignment, and strong performance across district portfolios.
  • Cultivate a collaborative, high-trust culture where team members are empowered to lead with autonomy and accountability.
  • Coach and develop team members to strengthen their capacity for systems-level strategy, adaptive leadership, and relationship management.
3. District Relationship Stewardship
  • Serve as a senior relationship manager and thought partner to key district leaders, ensuring Commit’s support model is seen as both responsive and strategic.
  • Oversee structures that ensure Commit’s expertise across Instruction, Talent, and Leadership are effectively translated to meet district needs and priorities.
  • Create mechanisms for cross-district learning, helping the organization and team benefit from shared insights and successful practices.
4. Operational Excellence
  • Lead the operationalization of the district partnership model, including clear routines, communication structures, and decision-making systems.
  • Partner with internal data and operations teams to monitor engagement, manage capacity, and assess district-level progress.
