The Compliance, Risk & Management Manager is a critical role responsible for safeguarding the organization through strong governance, disciplined processes, and proactive risk mitigation. This position leads to the development and execution of compliance programs, internal controls, vendor oversight, and contractual reviews to ensure the company operates efficiently and within regulatory and legal standards.
In addition, the manager oversees the full lifecycle of business insurance renewals—including data collection, broker coordination, policy review, and coverage evaluation—to ensure the company maintains adequate protection across all operational areas. This role partners closely with legal, finance, operations, and leadership to streamline processes, identify risks, improve documentation, and strengthen compliance across the business.
The ideal candidate is process-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable working cross-functionally to establish structure, reduce exposure, and support sustainable growth.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Compliance & Regulatory Oversight- Maintain and enhance the company’s compliance program, including policies, procedures, controls, and documentation.
- Monitor changes in regulations relevant to the business and ensure timely implementation.
- Conduct internal compliance audits and support external audits.
- Ensure compliance across business units related to data privacy, safety, procurement, and legal requirements.
- Train internal teams on compliance standards and process improvements.
- Identify, assess, and prioritize operational, contractual, and compliance-related risks.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Coordinate annual business insurance renewals, including gathering data, completing applications, managing broker communications, and evaluating policy options.
- Review insurance policies and endorsements to ensure adequate coverage aligned with business operations and risk exposures.
- Track certificates of insurance (COIs), claims, deductibles, and renewals to ensure all policies remain compliant and active.
- Support leadership in assessing insurance gaps, renewal pricing, and risk-transfer strategies.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of vendor onboarding, due diligence, performance tracking, and offboarding.
- Maintain vendor scorecards, compliance workflows, and documentation.
- Manage contract processes, including drafting, reviewing, and tracking NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, and service agreements.
- Partner with legal counsel on contract redlines, negotiation support, and policy alignment.
- Design and refine workflows for compliance, audits, contract management, vendor governance, and insurance renewals.
- Implement best practices, automation tools, and documentation standards.
- Lead cross-functional process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
- Establish metrics and dashboards for ongoing monitoring and reporting.
- Work closely with legal, finance, operations, safety, procurement, and leadership teams to ensure cohesive governance practices.
- Serve as the point person for compliance questions, insurance requirements, policy interpretation, and vendor issues.
- Communicate risks and recommendations clearly to leadership teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Compliance, Law, or related field. (Master’s or certifications a plus)
- 3–7+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, vendor management, or contracts administration.
- Strong understanding of NDAs, MSAs, insurance requirements, vendor due diligence, and audit frameworks.
- Proven ability to design and optimize processes across multiple functions.
- Exceptional attention to detail, documentation skills, and project management capabilities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to partner with legal, executive leadership, and external vendors.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to learn quickly, take direction, and work collaboratively.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
