Job Summary and Qualifications

* Participatesinhospitalordepartmentalperformanceimprovementactivities,andseeksopportunities to improve department and inter-department processes.

* Perform special assignments as needed/requested.

* Servesasaresourcetodepartmentstaff,students,volunteersandotherdepartments,and contributes to the team work essential to ensuring quality patient care.

* Takes appropriate measures to ensure safety of staff and patients.

* Performsroutinepreventativemaintenance,lubrication,cleaningof

HVAC.

* Inspects equipment while in operation and makes minor repairs and/or adjustments when necessary.

* Inspects the equipmentandoperationstoinsurethatefficientoperationinmaintained.

* Checks

HVAC'sobservingmeters,gauges,adjustingvalvesandothercontrolstoregulateflow,

velocity and air volume.

* Checksmechanicalequipment,suchascompressors,pumps,steam boilers,duringpreventative maintenance service.

* Repair and/or replace vacuum, oxygen, airline sand compressors.

* Repairsandinstallsplumbingfixturessuchas:sinks,toilets,valves,faucets,waterheater,hotandcold water piping, sewer piping and steam piping.

* Inspectsandtestselectricalpowercircuitsandequipment;examinesandtestselementsofsystems, such as distribution panels, controls, circuit breakers and motors in order to locate obvious faults, such as blown fuses, short circuits, broken wires or loose connections.

* Repair and/orreplaceallmechanicalorelectricalcomponentsasnecessaryandcompletedocumentation.

* Complete all necessary information for equipment inclusion and history.

* Performavarietyofgeneralmaintenancedutiesinandaroundthebuildingsofthehospitalcomplex and to assist other associates in completing their tasks.

* Runs emergency power generator on full load to ensure proper operation in case of emergency.

* Anyotherresponsibilitiesdesignatedbythe Facilities Department Leadership .

What qualifications you will need:

* Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
* (BOILER) Boiler Mechanic Permit, or (HVAC) HVAC Technician, or (ELEC-JOUR) Journeyman Electrician, or (PLUMB-JOUR) Journeyman Plumber, or (ELEC-MAINT) Electrical Maintenance License

* Certificate, or Work Experience in lieu of Degree
