The Park Operations Maintenance Technician (Technician) is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs throughout Klyde Warren Park (“Park”). This position plays a vital role in ensuring all mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems (including water features) operate safely and efficiently. The Technician also assists with coordination of sanitation, custodial, facilities and horticultural teams as assigned by the Assistant Manager or Associate Director of Park Operations.
This role supports all Park events, programs and activities, including those occurring on weekends, holidays or evenings.
RESPONSIBILITIES Maintenance and Repairs- Conduct daily inspections of all Park systems to ensure proper working order.
- Perform routine repairs of equipment and systems to ensure safe operations (e.g., replacing light fixtures, changing A/C filters, performing minor repairs).
- Assist with installation, repair and maintenance of electrical equipment and fixtures in compliance with all codes.
- Utilize blueprints and as-built diagrams to locate equipment and understand system layouts.
- Maintain all mobile and stationary equipment, work areas, tools, cabinets and equipment rooms in a clean, safe, labeled and organized condition.
- Utilize the Maintain
X software/app to manage, track and complete work orders accurately and on time. - Follow daily checklists and report to the Assistant Manager for assignments before beginning the workday.
- Demonstrate strong urgency and a proactive approach to tasks and problem‑solving.
- Work effectively as part of a team and support overall Park Operations goals.
- Communicate clearly and professionally; consistent communication is essential to daily operations.
- Check email and calendar regularly for schedules, events, programs and contractor appointments.
- Maintain a high level of customer service to ensure a “clean, safe, and active” Park environment.
- Assist with event load‑in/load‑out, including set‑up and breakdown of event infrastructure.
- Work signature events, external events and Park programs as required.
- Recommend system improvements as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Park Operations leadership.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in electrical, facility operations, construction or related field; journeyman electrician experience preferred.
- Strong personal initiative with the ability to meet aggressive goals and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while prioritizing multiple tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with quality control, documentation and maintaining records.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction as‑built plans.
- Superior organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Willingness to participate in drug testing and background check.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and rotating shifts, and comfort working outdoors.
