Weekend Custodian
The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.
Roles & Responsibilities- Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
- Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping, receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste.
- Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
- Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
- Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
- Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
- Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
- Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
- Perform repetitive tasks.
- Maintain clean work area.
- Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
- Take direction and respond to supervision.
- Talk with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
- Fill in during staff shortage.
- Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
- Use proper personal protective equipment.
- Present a professional appearance and conduct.
- Understand customer service and satisfaction.
- Understand reporting systems and the environment.
No specific education requirement; 3–6 months training or experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsMay be required to have a valid driver’s license, complete all safety and task training certifications, and possibly be forklift certified.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Bilingual is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and willingness to share with team.
- Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
- Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands & Work Environment- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
- Frequently required to sit and talk or listen.
- Work environment may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
$14.50–$15.50 per hour.
ShiftSaturday 10:00 am – 6:30 pm.
