The Automation Specialist and Electrician is responsible for developing, troubleshooting and improving manufacturing processes for mechanical and electrical products using automation technologies. This is an essential role for the day to day of the operations as it will provide technical support while implementing ECCO Manufacturing’s policies and regulations. The Automation Specialist and Electrician will perform all duties in a timely and orderly fashion to the best of their abilities and with the utmost due care, integrity and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities General Duties
  • Make a personal commitment to consistently provide superior customer service to ECCO’s customers so they will want to do repeat business with ECCO Manufacturing
  • Maintain good working relationship with all co-workers and ECCO employees
  • Read and comply with ECCO’s Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Read and comply with ECCO’s Human Resources Policies and Procedures
  • Assist in the success of ECCO’s Safety Program with suggestions and by setting a good example, also by ensuring that safety is at the forefront of your actions while at work
  • Adhere to all W.C.B. safety regulations with respect to lockouts
Automation and Electrical
  • Conduct plant maintenance including troubleshooting, repairs and ensure overall operations are in place
  • Design development and technical specifications for various projects
  • Assist with reviewing project controls, cost estimates, manpower and quantity take-offs
  • Ensure machinery and equipment are complying with safety regulations; as well as recommend modifications or replacements of equipment which fails to meet ECCO’s operation standards
  • Optimize automation equipment to improve ECCO’s manufacturing processes
  • Comply with all ECCO Manufacturing and local regulatory standards and requirements
  • Enhance electrical control maintenance
  • Report any accidents, damages, shortages, and near-misses immediately to your supervisor
  • Other duties as deemed necessary by Management

Due to the dynamic nature of this Company, the duties and responsibilities may reasonably change from time to time.

Qualifications
  • Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a Journeyman Electrician recognized by the State of Texas would be an asset
  • 2 years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience is an asset
  • Able to work well on a team
  • Capable of lifting and carrying a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Demonstrable knowledge and skills for electrical installation, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment
  • Creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
