Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. T1 Energy is looking to hire a Director, Supply Chain that will lead the strategy and execution of a global sourcing model that supports U.S. domestic solar manufacturing, balancing Asia-based supplier ecosystems with accelerated localization and onshoring initiatives in the United States. This is a high-impact leadership role requiring deep knowledge of the solar value chain, upstream and downstream component ecosystems, and evolving technology and cost dynamics.
You will be responsible for strengthening supply continuity, mitigating geopolitical and trade risk, and building a diversified supplier network that supports long-term U.S. manufacturing competitiveness.
- Lead global supply chain strategy across Asia and international sourcing and U.S. localization initiatives.
- Own end-to-end supply chain operations including Procurement, Production and Materials Control (PMC).
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies across the solar value chain (wafers, cells, modules, glass, frames, encapsulants, junction boxes, aluminum, silver paste, and other critical inputs).
- Build and manage a diversified global supplier ecosystem, including qualification, negotiation, performance management, and risk mitigation.
- Drive supplier localization, dual-sourcing, and capacity diversification to reduce concentration risk.
- Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to support production ramps, new product introductions, and technology transitions.
- Establish cost-controls frameworks that balance reliability, flexibility, and long-term positioning.
- Monitor geopolitical, regulatory, and trade risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
- Lead digital enablement initiatives, including ERP optimization, advanced planning systems, and supplier visibility tools.
- Coordinate with other team leaders on day to day operations and production alignment.
- Provide data-driven supply chain insights to executive leadership.
- Strategically minded but operationally grounded.
- Deeply familiar with the global solar manufacturing supply chain.
- Comfortable operating across Asia and North America in cross-cultural environments.
- Analytical and data-driven.
- A strong leader who builds capable, accountable teams.
- Decisive in balancing cost, risk, and long-term resilience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 5+ years leading global sourcing or supply chain strategy in manufacturing, energy, or industrial environments.
- Demonstrated experience sourcing from Asia and managing strategic supplier partnerships.
- Strong understanding of solar manufacturing materials, cost, structures, and capacity dynamics.
- Experience supporting U.S.–based manufacturing operations through global sourcing.
- Deep knowledge of procurement, production planning, supplier quality, and risk management.
- Proven leadership experience building and leading supply chain teams.
