Appellate Attorney

Overview

Our busy law firm is growing, and we are looking for talent that works hard to represent clients well. The prime candidate will work seamlessly with both senior partners and administrative staff in an effort to effectively serve clients. If you have excellent research and writing skills, can easily use today’s technology, and communicate effectively across all levels, we would love to connect!

• Draft and file appellate briefs, motions, and petitions in state and federal appellate courts, ensuring persuasive legal writing and strict compliance with procedural rules.
• Conduct detailed legal research and case analysis to develop effective appellate strategies and identify reversible error.
• Review trial court records, transcripts, and rulings to assess appellate issues and preserve arguments for review.
• Collaborate with trial attorneys and litigation teams to provide guidance on appellate considerations, issue preservation, and post-trial motions.
• Prepare for and present oral arguments before appellate courts, representing clients with professionalism and strong advocacy.

• Well-versed in legal research software (Westlaw/Lexis)
• Prior experience working in a law firm for a minimum of 1-2 years required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite is necessary
• Work independently while handling a heavy caseload
• Graduation from law school with Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree and experience in representing clients for at least 2 years
