SLG, an award-winning business litigation boutique, is recruiting Associates to join its team. An inspirational presence in the legal industry since 2017, SLG takes a client-centric approach to dispute resolution resulting in multiple Fortune 100 companies repeatedly retaining SLG to resolve contractual, financial services, product liability, labor, employment, and personal injury claims through litigation, arbitration, investigations, and trial.

As SLG continues its steadfast growth, it is recruiting Associates with preferably 3+ years of experience in civil litigation. These Associates will support Partners handling business, financial institution, labor, employment, and product liability litigation. The winning candidate will also be trained to support SLG’s Investigation Team, which handles C-Suite, ethics, employment, and Title IX investigations for its corporate, non-profit, and educational institution clients.

The winning candidates will join a firm devoted to coaching younger associates to reach their professional goals. Associates will work on cases through the entire life of the case, including developing strategy, fact finding, preparing legal documents, taking and defending depositions, attending hearings, mediation, and trial. To be successful, the winning candidates must be self-starters with exceptional time management and interpersonal skills.

The candidate must be highly organized with the ability to handle multiple files with a positive attitude. Exceeding client expectations and winning—through early settlement or trial—is the expectation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and oversee drafting of pleadings, motions, notices, and written discovery
  • Conduct fact investigations and inspections
  • Attend case conferences, depositions, hearings, trials, mediations and arbitrations
  • Participate in SLG firm-wide meetings to provide docket and personnel updates
  • Attend sponsored firm events and business conferences on behalf of SLG
Requirements
  • Ethical, future-focused, positive mindset, team player with a learner mentality
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Texas
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, ready to learn, eager to take on new responsibilities
  • 3+ years of civil litigation experience
  • Work independently while handling multiple files
  • Exceptional time management, legal writing, and verbal communication skills
