Role Description

As a Large Casualty, Regional Underwriting Manager
, you will be the driving force behind underwriting and servicing multi-line large deductible accounts within your assigned territory. You’ll be responsible for producing new business, retaining renewals, and managing broker and client relationships that directly impact profitability and revenue growth. With a sharp analytical approach, you will evaluate exposures, analyze loss histories, and collaborate with departments like Actuarial, Claims, Legal, and Risk Services to deliver exceptional underwriting solutions.

You will present compelling business cases to brokers, champion Safety National’s underwriting capabilities, and act as the face of the Casualty Underwriting Group in the field. You’ll also participate in agency management, conventions, and mentoring of junior underwriters. Your strategic thinking, strong negotiation skills, and ability to lead with data will be essential as you help us capture and retain targeted accounts.

Responsibilities
  • Produce new business and retain renewals for multi-line large deductible accounts within the assigned territory.
  • Manage broker and client relationships to impact profitability and revenue growth.
  • Evaluate exposures and analyze loss histories; collaborate with Actuarial, Claims, Legal, and Risk Services.
  • Present compelling business cases to brokers and champion underwriting capabilities.
  • Represent the Casualty Underwriting Group in the field and participate in agency management, conventions, and mentoring of junior underwriters.
  • Lead with data-driven decision making and apply strategic thinking and negotiation skills.
Qualifications

Education:

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required; a degree in a related field is preferred.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Hybrid work schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week in the Dallas Office, 5050 Quorum Drive, Suite 410 Dallas, TX 75254. Work From Home policy applies.
  • 5 or more years of experience in large deductible/national account underwriting and sales.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated success in a field underwriting production environment.
  • Proven track record of high performance and relationship-driven sales.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Business acumen with a data-driven mindset.
  • CPCU designation is a plus.
