Associate​/Junior Underwriter

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Commercial Insurance Underwriter to support our underwriting team in assessing risk and evaluating commercial insurance applications. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to start or grow their career in the insurance industry.

• Assist in reviewing and analyzing commercial insurance applications, renewals, and endorsements.
• Gather and verify client information, financials, and risk factors.
• Work under the guidance of senior underwriters to determine appropriate coverage terms and pricing.
• Communicate with brokers and clients to obtain missing information or clarify underwriting requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in underwriting systems.
• Stay current with industry trends, underwriting guidelines, and company policies.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn underwriting software.
• A strong interest in risk assessment and commercial insurance.

• Previous internship or experience in insurance or financial services is a plus.

This range is provided by Welling Young, LLC. Base pay range: $67,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr
