Placement Specialist – Commercial Insurance

Department: Service Operations

FLSA Status: Exempt

Location: In office required – Dallas, TX

Reports to: VP of Service Operations

What You’ll Do
  • Placement Mastery: Own the end-to-end placement process for commercial lines (GL, Property, BOP, WC, Auto, Cyber, EPLI, and more) for small and mid-sized businesses across the U.S.
  • Matrix-Driven Precision: Use our technology to scientifically match clients to the right products, carriers, and coverages – no more “one-size-fits-all” quoting.
  • Carrier Negotiation: Leverage our carrier relationships and API-powered submission tools to get the best terms, fastest turnarounds, and most competitive options for every client.
  • Client Advocacy: Serve as the “go-to” expert for complex placements, market navigation, and creative solutions – especially for hard-to-place or emerging risks.
  • Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with Account Managers, Producers, and Service teams to ensure seamless onboarding, renewals, and ongoing optimization.
  • Continuous Improvement: Help us refine our placement playbooks, share market intelligence, and pilot new tools and automations.

Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years of commercial lines placement or underwriting experience (agency, carrier, or MGA/MGU).
  • Deep familiarity with core and specialty commercial products (GL, Property, WC, BOP, EPLI, Cyber, etc.).
  • Comfort with digital platforms, comparative raters, and AMS/CRM systems (Applied Epic, Tarmika, IVANS, etc. a plus).
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Property & Casualty license required (or ability to obtain quickly).
  • Must be based in Dallas, TX area and able to work in-office in the North Dallas area.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Industry certifications such as Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Certified Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).
  • Experience in a growth-oriented or multi-carrier agency environment.
  • Service-oriented and client-focused with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Technologically savvy and comfortable with digital tools to streamline workflows.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with sales and service teams.
