Business Analyst

The Business Analyst supports the business units by delivering reporting, system configuration, and analytical solutions that drive operational efficiency and informed decision-making. This role works closely with internal stakeholders to gather business requirements, translate needs into technical solutions, and support both existing and new insurance programs.

The Business Analyst will contribute to projects of small to medium size with appropriate guidance and mentorship.

• Support project management activities for internal systems and process improvements
• Assist with data migration and data validation efforts
• Gather, document, and refine business requirements from underwriting and operational teams
• Support management of software development efforts with third-party vendors
• Contribute to project planning, task tracking, and milestone coordination
• Participate in RFP processes for new software solutions as needed
• Perform underwriting, operational, and financial analysis using internal and external data sources
• Develop and maintain SQL queries for reporting, data exports, and ad hoc analysis
• Build intuitive reports and visualizations for business users and leadership
• Configure and administer systems for existing and new insurance programs
• Support troubleshooting, testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities
• Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Technical Specifications to ensure clarity, repeatability, and proper system documentation

• 1–2+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar analytical role
• Working knowledge of SQL for querying and reporting – 1+ year
• Experience working with databases, Microsoft Excel, and reporting tools
• Ability to gather and clearly document business requirements

• Background in Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience in the insurance industry
• Exposure to Salesforce or Insurance Management Systems (IMS)
• Experience with data visualization tools
• Experience with Visual Basic for App

Pay Range: $75,000–$85,000

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
