The Information Security Senior Advisor - Customer Trust is the strategic connector between Equinix's security posture, compliance certifications, and the needs of customers and internal product teams.
This customer-facing engineer communicates security capabilities, compliance readiness, and audit expectations to build trust, accelerate enterprise sales, and reinforce Equinix's reputation as a security-first organization. The role translates complex security and compliance frameworks into clear, business-relevant value propositions and partners closely with audit, sales, product, and security teams to position certifications, reports, and trust documentation effectively, driving faster deal cycles and stronger customer confidence.
Key Responsibilities Customer Trust & Strategic Advisory- Provide expert security and compliance guidance throughout presales engagements.
- Help customers understand how Equinix's controls, certifications, and architecture meet their security and regulatory needs.
- Lead complex customer assessments, audits, questionnaires, and due diligence with accurate and timely responses.
- Translate customer requirements into actionable insights and backlog items for security, product, and engineering teams.
- Develop and maintain customer-facing trust artifacts, including security landing pages, whitepapers, industry-specific FAQs, and reference architectures/diagrams.
- Partner with audit and compliance teams to coordinate customer-facing aspects of certification and audit readiness.
- Facilitate clear, consistent information flow between product teams, customers, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
- Build and deliver communications such as readiness guides, FAQs, dashboards, and periodic briefings.
- Provide interpretation and guidance across frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, HIPAA, and other relevant industry/regional standards).
- Escalate complex compliance or audit issues appropriately.
- Partner with sales to unlock enterprise deals requiring deep security expertise while balancing rigor with deal velocity.
- Create sales enablement materials that position Equinix's security posture and transparency as competitive differentiators.
- Support contract reviews with guidance on security terms, data protection requirements, and control expectations.
- Drive strategy and implementation of automation to streamline security questionnaire responses and scale trust operations.
- Build credibility and trusted relationships across security, product, engineering, audit, sales, and customer success.
- Drive alignment around compliance milestones and customer trust initiatives; anticipate customer needs and audit timelines.
- Promote a customer‑centric security culture that balances protection, operational excellence, and innovation.
- 6+ years of progressive experience in Information Security or Security Engineering roles.
- 2+ years in customer-facing security assurance, security architecture, presales security engineering, or compliance advisory supporting enterprise deals.
- 2+ years applying major compliance frameworks (e.g.,
SOC 2,
ISO 27001
; exposure to FedRAMP
, HIPAA or similar). - 2+ years working with cloud security controls and shared responsibility models across AWS
, Azure
, and/or GCP
. - 1+ years building or maintaining trust artifacts (e.g., security whitepapers, control mappings, reference architectures, FAQs).
- 1+ years using trust automation or GRC tooling (e.g.,
Drata
, Vanta
, Secureframe
, One Trust
, Service Now GRC
, Archer
) to scale evidence collection and responses. - Proven ability to translate complex security and compliance requirements into clear, actionable guidance for both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant certifications (one or more):
CISSP

, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Lead Auditor
, Security+. - Experience with enterprise RFPs/RFIs, DPAs, security schedules, and negotiation of security terms.
- Familiarity with vendor risk platforms and questionnaire portals (e.g.,
One Trust VRM
, Risk Recon
). - Experience in data center, cloud, or SaaS environments and working closely with product/engineering roadmaps.
