Restaurant Solution Engineer

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Solution Engineer in the Restaurant Domain to join a rapidly growing brand in Dallas, TX. This is an onsite role 4 days/ week. You will be responsible for aligning technical solutions with business needs and ensuring these solutions meet quality, functional, architectural, and performance standards. You will collaborate with product management, project managers, and cross-functional teams to support store success in areas such as new restaurant openings, market entries, and system integrations.

You will be responsible for the entire technical ecosystem of new and existing restaurant developments- from FOS, BOS, Network, Martech, Ecommerce technologies etc. Key responsibilities include developing technical documentation (e.g., RFPs, use case proposals, ROI justifications), facilitating seamless integration of systems (POS, digital platforms, loyalty programs), and conducting training sessions. The SE will also evaluate and refine integration processes, understand complex retail environments, and stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of experience as system integration engineers or a solution architect in restaurant or retail settings. They will possess a solid grasp of POS systems (highly preferred is NCR Aloha or Simphony), architecture (on-prem, hybrid, cloud), and data management infrastructure. As a thinker and coach, the SE will guide integration providers, review procedures, and design systems diagrams while fostering continuous improvement.

• 5+ Years Experience with in System/ Solution Engineering, 2 years minimum within the Retail or Restaurant Domain
• Strong wholistic understanding of entire Technical Ecosystem involved in a Retail or Restaurant site (FOH, BOH, Network, Digital/ E-commerce tools, Martech, Etc)
• Strong understanding of POS hardware and software- either Simphony or NCR Aloha
• Strong fundamental understanding of POS database structure and associated cloud architecture.
• Experience on the Design/ Planning stage of system architecture - someone who is upstream from execution and is a "thinker" and not just a "doer"
• Proven ability to lead and advise others and provide thought leadership to Junior Engineers and Product Managers
