Must haves:
- 5–7 years of project management experience
- Experience managing multiple software, hardware, and/or ERP projects
- Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience working with multiple system integrators and vendors
- Enterprise software releases, ERP implementations, and/or process re-engineering
- Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Project
- Project financial forecasting and reporting
- Risk, issue, and dependency management
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
- Master’s Degree (Preferred)
- PMP Certification (Preferred)
Role Summary
The Senior Project Manager leads cross-functional IT projects of medium to high complexity from initiation through delivery. This role operates within the IT PMO and requires strong collaboration in a matrixed environment, adherence to (client name removed) governance standards, and the ability to manage enterprise software, ERP, and infrastructure initiatives.
The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented project manager with strong soft skills, capable of raising risks early, managing multiple vendors, and delivering projects on time and within budget in dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Delivery Leadership
- Lead medium to high complexity, cross-functional IT projects end-to-end
- Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks, and dependencies (triple constraint)
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans and schedules (MS Project)
- Deliver projects on budget with desired business outcomes
- Ensure project artifacts and deliverables comply with (client name removed) standards
- Maintain project governance through regular status meetings, stand-ups, and reviews
- Screen projects for risks, issues, actions, decisions, and financial viability
- Implement risk mitigation strategies and manage escalations
- Apply change control processes to manage scope, schedule, and cost changes
Stakeholder & Executive Communication
- Conduct weekly status reviews and prepare PowerPoint status decks
- Communicate project health, milestones, accomplishments, and upcoming work
- Build consensus across stakeholders and facilitate decision-making
- Lead strategic meetings and distribute meeting minutes
- Forecast project financials and communicate variances to sponsors
- Partner with Operations or Procurement Analysts on financial reporting validation
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, accruals, and reclassifications
- Coordinate with multiple vendors and ensure alignment to SOWs, timelines, and invoicing
Team & Process Leadership
- Guide cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams across work streams
- Promote and enforce project management best practices
- Foster collaboration, trust, and accountability across project teams
- Operate effectively within SDLC and enterprise IT environments
Preferred Experience
- Energy or refinery industry experience (Nice to Have)
- Information Technology environment experience
