Optym is seeking a Data Engineer to support the Route Max suite, which delivers AI-driven routing and operational decision support for LTL and final-mile logistics. This role will play a key part in building and evolving data lakes and analytical platforms, where data from multiple Optym LTL products flows into a unified foundation to support reporting, analytics, and AI-driven features.
This role involves building and maintaining data pipelines and infrastructure, ensuring data quality, and supporting analytics and AI-driven features. The role will also involve hands-on coding as part of product and solution development from time to time.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for operational and analytical use cases
- Work closely with software engineers, data scientists, and product teams on features
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and performance across ingestion and processing workflows
- Develop data models, schemas, and documentation
- Write clean, maintainable code for data processing and integration
- Support production deployments and troubleshoot data-related issues
- Continuously optimize data workflows for performance and scalability
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field
- Strong experience using Python for data processing and automation
- Proficiency in at least one additional programming language (e.g., C#, Java or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of data processing - Spark, Messaging-Kafka, big data env:
- Hadoop, hive, hbase - Experience in datalake and data warehouse
Strong understanding of databases and data modeling (SQL and No
SQL)
- Programming languages: C#, Python, Type Script and NodeJS
- Frameworks and platforms: .NET Core
- Databases:
Relational and No
SQL - Data processing and integration tools as required by product and client environments
- Experience with distributed data processing frameworks
- Exposure to analytics, optimization, or AI-driven systems
- Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or supply-chain domains
