Observability​/Grafana Engineer

Job Description

We’re looking for a self-driven engineer to take ownership of building and maintaining Grafana dashboards and visualizations that support a wide range of operational and strategic use cases. This work is currently handled by various team members and needs to be transitioned to a dedicated expert who can focus on it full-time. You’ll collaborate closely with the primary stakeholder and partner with multiple teams across the organization to understand requirements, translate them into actionable visualizations, and ensure data accuracy and usability.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a cross‑functional environment and is passionate about observability and data storytelling.

• Design, build, and maintain Grafana dashboards to support monitoring, alerting, and reporting needs across teams.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective visualizations.
• Write and optimize PromQL queries for Prometheus‑based metrics.
• Develop and refine Lucene queries for Elasticsearch/Open Search data sources.
• Ensure dashboards are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business goals.
• Document dashboard logic, data sources, and usage guidelines.
• Provide support and troubleshooting for visualization‑related issues.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve observability and data visibility.

• Proven experience with Grafana for dashboard creation and visualization.
• Strong proficiency in Prometheus and PromQL.
• Solid understanding of Elasticsearch/Open Search and Lucene query syntax.
• Background in data analysis, with the ability to interpret and visualize complex datasets.
• Experience working with cross‑functional teams and managing stakeholder expectations.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.

• Familiarity with alerting frameworks and observability best practices.
• Experience with time‑series data and performance monitoring.
• Exposure to infrastructure monitoring, Dev Ops, or SRE environments.
