Vaco is currently seeking a REDCap System Admin for a 12M+ Contract opportunity that is 100% remote. The REDCap System Admin will administer, configure, and optimize the platform within a highly regulated environment, ensuring stability, security, and performance of the REDCap application and supporting infrastructure (cloud-hosted deployments). The REDCap System Admin will partner closely with leadership, researchers, and technical teams to support data collection, automation, and reporting initiatives.

Additionally, the REDCap System Admin will drive proactive system management (backups / DR / performance analytics).

• Install / Configure / Upgrade / Maintain REDCap Application / Associated Infrastructure (Cloud Environments)
• Lead Day-to-Day Administration of REDCap Platform - System Configuration / Optimization
• Manage User Accounts / Roles / Permissions / Project Access
• Configure System Settings / Authentication Methods / Integrations with Internal / External Systems
• Manage System Upgrades / Performance Monitoring / Capacity Planning / Incident Resolution - Ensuring High Availability / Reliability
• Design / Implement / Maintain Backup / DR Procedures - Ensuring Comprehensive Documentation / Compliance
• Generate / Deliver System Usage Analytics / Performance Metrics / SLA Compliance Reports - Informing System Optimization / Supporting Decision-Making
• Collaborate with Leadership / Researchers / Informatics Teams / Analysts - Supporting Data Pipelines / Automation / Reporting Initiatives
• Troubleshoot Applications / Database / Infrastructure Issues - Escalating to Ensure Timely Resolution

This position will focus on guiding the platform through its urgent transition to a cloud-hosted environment, primarily on Azure (with potential AWS elements), ensuring high availability, performance, security, and compliance in a regulated setting. While strong REDCap expertise is a given, the role especially requires enough cloud familiarity to operate confidently in the new Azure-based deployment, enabling smooth stabilization post-migration.

• Administering REDCap Features
  :
  Project setup, user and access management, instrument configuration, upgrades, backups, and researcher support.
• Cloud
  :
  Applying practical, hands-on cloud skills to navigate Azure services, connect to virtual machines, monitor performance, review application logs, troubleshoot issues in the hosted environment, and assist with capacity planning and incident resolution.
• Database
  :
  Maintaining basic MySQL / DB knowledge for effective application-level diagnostics and support.

• REDCap Management (hands-on | 5+ years) - Administration / Operational Management in Enterprise Regulated Environments | Full Lifecycle Oversight (System Configuration / Performance / Security / Support)
• REDCap Expertise (hands-on | 3+ years) - Core REDCap Features / Capabilities (Project Setup / Instrument/Survey Design / User/Role Management / DAGs / External Modules / API Integrations / Upgrades/Patching / Backup/Recovery Procedures / Logging/Auditing / Common Configuration Options / Integration Patterns)
• Cloud-Hosted REDCap Operations - Supporting / Administering Cloud Environments (Azure / AWS) | Navigation of Cloud Services / VM Access / Application Log Review / Performance Monitoring / Troubleshooting (basic) / Incident Resolution / Capacity Planning for HA Deployments
