We’re partnering with a leading cloud software organization to expand their Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BCDR) capabilities for a fleet of cloud-based products. This is a high-visibility role where you’ll help stand up and mature a new BCDR program that directly impacts platform resiliency, regulatory compliance, and customer trust. If you have a strong background in disaster recovery for cloud environments and enjoy working closely with technical teams to build and test real-world recovery plans, this could be a great next step.

What

You’ll Do

Disaster Recovery Planning & Documentation

  • Develop, maintain, and update disaster recovery (DR) plans, runbooks, and procedures for cloud-based products.
  • Document and maintain the schedule for fleet-wide DR testing activities.
  • Identify and maintain an inventory of internal applications and critical systems, including their dependencies.
  • Track and maintain Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) for critical applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure DR plans align with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Help develop and standardize corporate DR templates and fleet templates within a BCDR platform (e.g., Fusion Framework).
  • Work with application teams to build and migrate plans into a centralized BCDR tool.

Testing & Validation

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute annual DR exercises (e.g., tabletop, functional, and full production tests).
  • Support fleet-wide testing programs, including failover tests and simulation drills.
  • Ensure exercises are properly executed and documented in the BCDR platform.
  • Document test results, identify gaps, and track remediation activities through closure.
  • Partner with system and application owners to validate recovery strategies and ensure operational readiness.

Monitoring, Governance & Compliance

  • Assist in maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 22301, FFIEC, NIST, DORA).
  • Track and report DR metrics, testing outcomes, and risk exposure to leadership.
  • Support third-party/vendor assessments to confirm that external recovery capabilities meet organizational standards.

Incident Response Support

  • Provide support during actual outages or crises, including DR plan activation and coordination.
  • Work with IT and business stakeholders to ensure timely escalation, communication, and recovery execution.

Continuous Improvement & Enablement

  • Research industry best practices and emerging technologies in disaster recovery and resilience.
  • Recommend improvements to DR processes, tooling, and documentation.
  • Train end users and stakeholders on BCDR policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Collaborate with a Business Continuity Program Manager and other leads to execute on a multi-year resiliency roadmap.
  • Participate in training (e.g., BCDR/ Fusion platform classes) after onboarding.
What You Bring

Core Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, IT Resiliency, or a closely related field.
  • Hands-on experience building and maintaining BCDR plans for technical, cloud-based products.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with engineering / technical teams to:
    • Gather requirements
    • Validate recovery strategies
    • Align them to regulatory and compliance requirements

Technical Skills

  • Understanding of data backup, replication, and failover processes.
  • Familiarity with cloud recovery solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments.
  • Knowledge of core infrastructure components:
    • Servers, storage, networks, virtualization
    • Application dependencies and upstream/downstream impacts
  • Experience with BCDR tools such as Fusion Framework, Service Now, Archer, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to develop and maintain dashboards, metrics, and reports for leadership.
